Dear patients and friends of Back in Place Chiropractic,

I wish to inform you that I will be undergoing Orthopedic spinal surgery on May 27th, 2022. I will be out of the office beginning May 25th and return to practice in September/October of this year. Your continued chiropractic care is of utmost importance to me and I have reached out to several of my esteemed colleagues to continue that care during my medical absence. 

My front desk staff, Jerry and Mary, will be keeping the doors open at Back in Place to answer questions, connect you to my referrals, provide BEMER therapy sessions and make supplement sales while I recover. Please call (805)434-2077. 

I have a 5 Star surgical team in place and will undergo surgery at Sierra Vista Hospital in SLO. I am extremely healthy and physically fit and will be as good as new in no time! And during my absence, several veteran DNFT doctors will be here in the Back in Place office for you! Again, your continued chiropractic care is very important to me!

Here’s a bit about my story and why spinal surgery is necessary. 

Back in 1996 during my Chiropractic education at Palmer College of Chiropractic West, it was discovered that I had a weakness at my Lumbar 5 vertebrae. I was asymptomatic and probably acquired the injury in High School sports. With this knowledge I managed my condition with regular exercise, healthy lifestyle practices and quality chiropractic care. My sports with horses and dressage was an added bonus to my ‘core fitness’. 

Over the last few years, the area in my lower back has degenerated causing severe nerve root compression. 4 different orthopedic doctors have evaluated me and surgical decompression of my L5 nerve root is the only solution. So, I will have the surgery on May 27th.
