My role as your chiropractor is to remove the structural interferences, to restore your communication pathways within your nervous system, address nutritional deficiencies, and promote emotional wellness. Your body is uniquely designed to heal, to grow, and to thrive! Sometimes there are barriers to this full expression of health and I am here to support you through it.
Finding Back in Place Chiropractic
Throughout my time in chiropractic school, I was exposed to many different philosophies and techniques of chiropractic. Many of which I did not receive well as a patient (I experienced an increase in severity and frequency of migraines), nor did I resonate with delivering these types of adjustments to fellow students and patients. I knew there had to be something different that was low force, specific, and effective with lasting results.
I had the privilege to discover DNFT (Directional Non-Force Technique) through a college elective class taught by Dr. Christopher John DC and Dr. Victoria Schwartz-Edmiston DC. With the DNFT analysis being incredibly detailed and specific, along with the low-force utilized to make an adjustment, it resonated with me. I wanted to learn more, practice it, and potentially utilize it for my chiropractic career. Then I received my first adjustment! I found myself truly amazed by the impact to my nervous system from this gentle and effective adjustment. I experienced rest and stillness within my nervous system, I’ve had lasting relief from migraines, and I had an incredible emotional response from a structural adjustment: unexpected yet powerful.
I knew I had to pursue this technique further and help others discover it as well! My best friend (Dr. Megan Ng, DC) and I started the DNFT Club under the direction of Dr. John on campus at LCCW where we were able to share our love for this technique, educate our fellow students, and hone in on our skills as well.
I knew I wanted to be able to participate in an internship where DNFT was practiced, because it was not offered within our own clinic at the college. I was able to find Dr. Pam through the DNFT referral list, and by the recommendation of Dr. John. I reached out and connected with her about an internship opportunity if she was willing to have me! I visited a few times both with Dr. Megan and by myself to practice and to learn more of this technique from Dr. Pam, as she has been successfully practicing DNFT for over 24 years. I moved down from the Bay Area to northern San Luis Obispo County with my husband, Nico, and our manx kitty, Willow, in December of 2022. We made the internship official as I finished up my time in school. I am now licensed and serving SLO County as your doctor of chiropractic of DNFT!
This area is absolutely beautiful and now holds a special place in my heart. I know I have barely scratched the surface of places to go, places to see, and things to do here in the central coast. I look forward to serving you, connecting with you, and providing nervous system care for you to live your life to the fullest!
When I’m not in the office practicing my passion, you will find me at local coffee shops, local vendor market events, at the gym, or making arts and crafts at home. I look forward to seeing and meeting you soon!
